Where have my channels gone?

If you have an LCD or plasma, you should already have a tuner built-in digital TV.Some rabbit ears and many large antennas operate both VHF (very high frequency - the previous signal analog) and UHF (ultra high frequency - the new digital signal).

You may have noticed already available in HD for those with a stronger antenna and an HDTV compatible, which makes Hockey Night in Canada expect much clearer. Although only a few channels will be provided in HD, many more will be clearer now than before because they will be digital.Otherwise, you may notice that you receive some channels you have been unable to resolve forward, as the digital signals are able to move more efficiently and to transmit a stronger signal.

This transition will leave some Canadians without their favorite programming if they have an old analog TV antenna UHF or not. This problem can be solved by buying a converter CAD $ 40 + or a new TV that sells for as little as $ 200 CAD for small models. Without these improvements, you may not receive many channels with a set of rabbit ears depending on their quality.For students it can be hard to swallow as another cost, but for others with compatible hardware the image clearer and greater selection of channels will come as a welcome surprise.

It seems that many rabbit ears with UHF capacity are technically supposed to work, they are still unable to deal with several or all of the new signals. Enlarge UHF antennas or digital television will probably now offer a wider range of channels than before.

I bought this product to replace my old analog TV. I live by the water in Puget Sound. I did do some homework prior to buying the TV and additional powered antenna. Where I live there are lots of mountains and trees. I have zero reception, despite buying the powered antenna. I connected to my cable TV and have an excellent picture and sound. It is very user friendly, clear picture and good sound. I took the TV to my office in downtown Bremerton and received 8 stations with the powere antenna. Without it, there is zero reception. The digital picture I received was clear and the color was great. Bottom line is that it will probably work well in areas where there are no mountains or trees to block the digital signal. It is great in the city or if connected to the cable. For the price it is a great TV.
